Project:  Pomfret School Athletic Facillity & Student Center

Location:  Pomfret, CT

        Combined student center and athletic facility for an iIndependent boarding school in northeastern Connecticut on its 500-acre campus.  Initial concepts for the project included both traditional above ground construction and a scheme primarily below grade in order to maintain the campus vistas. The below-grade scheme provides an outdoor terrace and sitting area overlooking the rolling hills in the area. The project entails the adaptive reuse of the existing Lewis Gymnasium (circa 1917), renovations to its later additions, and new construction.
